  • Generation POUND: Ages 6-12

    Generation POUND® was created not just as a workout geared towards kids, but a MOVEMENT that aims to change the concept of health and fitness for today’s youth. The program fuses movement and music to improve focus, coordination, physical fitness, and teamwork skills for “Rockstars in Training." Instructors use Ripstix®–POUND’s lightly weighted exercise drumsticks–to learn alternative ways to explore movement. The power of Generation POUND encompasses more than just physical fitness. Combining kid-friendly choreography and group activities, it promotes social and emotional well-being by fostering relationships, building self-esteem and self-awareness, and inspiring the next generation of happy, healthy kids. Mats and Ripstix will be provided. Participants should wear comfy clothes and bring water. Please note if your child has a latex allergy, as one optional activity uses latex balloons.
  • Co-Ed Strength and Speed: Gr. 6-8

    This program will help you build muscular strength, explosive speed and agility, and lasting muscular and aerobic endurance. All fitness levels are welcome and will benefit!
  • Non-School Days: Open Gym: All Ages

    Looking for something to do on non-school days? Come join us for open gym at the High School! Community Ed staff will supervise each session. Children 9 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Some school equipment will be available for use, but we encourage you to bring your own. Note: You must register online to agree to the waiver form. Pay online during registration. We encourage online enrollments; if there are no enrollments online for any given open gym day, we may automatically cancel that session. Community Education does not offer refunds on open gym.
  • BMX Bike Racing: Pre-K to Adult

    Learn the Sport of BMX Bike Racing! Rum River BMX is the #1 indoor facility in the country. Unlike traditional sports, in BMX, no one sits on the bench! BMX riding is a great way for kids and adults to stay active, build confidence, develop important life skills, connect with others, and have fun. This session will cover BMX fundamentals including “What is BMX racing?” racing bike types, BMX terminology, and BMX safety. Also, the most important lesson, how to RIDE LIKE THE WIND! Students will receive hands-on riding instructions and will practice their new skills on the BMX track. This course is designed for new riders (novice) who are interested in the sport. If you can pedal your bike without training wheels, you can take part in this class. No special bikes are required, if it has wheels, a few adjustments and we will make it work for this class (your bike will need to have the reflectors, kickstand, chain guard, and pegs removed). If you do not have a bike, we have a fleet of HARO race bikes available at the track for use on a first come, first served basis. A full-face helmet is recommended, as helmets are required. You must wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt and close-toed shoes. Check-in is from 5:30 to 6:00pm and class is from 6:00 to 7:45pm.

    DASH Sports Track & Field camps provide participants with practice in several areas including: sprinting, javelin throwing, shotput, relay running, jumping, and distance running. Emphasis is on technique and proper form. Camp consists of many different types of physical activities, drills, and games, all tailored specifically to enhance overall track and field performance. Campers should bring a water bottle and wear athletic shoes.

    DASH Sports Tykes Track & Field camps provide participants with a basic introduction to track & field events. Participants will learn and practice how to correctly run, jump, and throw. Emphasis is on technique and proper form. Camp consists of many different types of physical activities, drills, and games, all tailored specifically to enhance overall athletic ability & performance. Campers should bring a water bottle and wear athletic shoes. Parent participation is required for the 2-3yr old age group.
  • DASH Sports Tykes Track & Field: Ages 4-6

    DASH Sports Tykes Track & Field camps provide participants with a basic introduction to track & field events. Participants will learn and practice how to correctly run, jump, and throw. Emphasis is on technique and proper form. Camp consists of many different types of physical activities, drills, and games, all tailored specifically to enhance overall athletic ability & performance. Campers should bring a water bottle and wear athletic shoes. Parent participation is recommended as needed for the 4+ age group.

    Tiger T-Ball is a fun recreational program that exposes kids to the basics of throwing, fielding, hitting, and running the bases. Players will be divided into teams for practice and game activities. Ages 2.5 -3 is from 6-6:45pm and ages 4-6 from 7-8pm. Players will receive a t-shirt with registration. Parent participation is required for ages 2.5-3 and encouraged for ages 4-6. Monday, June 23rd, will be a make-up date if class is canceled at all. Photo day TBD. Participants should bring their own baseball gloves. Parent volunteer coaches are needed! Please contact Jackie at Jackie.Longhenry@isd477.org for more information or if interested in coaching. If selected to be a coach, you will receive a program t-shirt.

Your children will learn in a safe, supervised environment with our trained instructors who are specialists in keeping kids motivated and interested while they're learning self defense techniques that can last a lifetime. Located at Professional Karate Studio (PKS), 119 N Rum River Drive, Princeton.

  • Pirates and Mermaid Swim Party: All Ages

    Ahoy matey! Everyone is invited to a Pirates and Mermaid pool party on May 17th. Come dressed in your water-safe costume and have a swimmingly good time! Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Pre-registration required by May 8th, walk-ins not accepted.

    This Beginner Archery class will focus on learning eye dominance, range rules, safety rules, scoring, and fundamentals of archery. Fun events will also be taught! Genesis Bow equipment is provided. Adults and parents are also encouraged to sign up!
