  • Catalog Advertising for Summer 2024

    Advertise your business with Princeton Community Education! For Summer 2024, our catalog will be printed and sent to homes in early April. Our catalog reaches nearly 15,000 households in the Princeton, Zimmerman, Dalbo and Santiago areas. Advertisers are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the predetermined number of advertisement slots are sold. The catalog/brochure will not be enlarged nor will the educational offerings be jeopardized in any way because of the advertisements.     FREE Tech Times: Learning the Basics of Technology: Adult

    Princeton Community Education is partnering with the high school's National Honor Society (NHS) students and Age-Friendly Princeton to offer a four-part series around technology usage. Participants will spend the first session learning about the basics of a cell phone- types of phones, terminology, phone settings, icons and applications, etc. The following three sessions will be tailored to the group's needs and may cover topics such as social media, video calls with family, and security, but is not limited to any specific topic. Please bring your phone with you to each class for a hands-on experience. Participants will also receive a take-home packet filled with helpful information. Class is taught by NHS students. This class is great for all community members- young and old- looking to get helpful tips on navigating different phone features! You do not have to attend all four sessions, but we encourage it to get the most out of the class. There is NO class on April 20th. Class is free with a suggested $10 donation to help cover the costs of the take-home guidebook you receive. Call Community Education for registration help at 763-389-6198.
  • Energy Healing Sound Bath: Ages 16+

    Come experience the healing waves of sound. Crystal Singing Bowls are supportive in achieving well-being in the mind, body, and soul. Benefits may include a full body relaxation and recalibration. Be ready to restore and heal in this receptive 60-minute session. Dress comfortably and bring a mat, water bottle, and a cozy blanket and pillow. Chairs can be available for those who cannot be on the ground.
  • American Red Cross: First Aid, CPR and AED Certification/Re-Certification

    BE PREPARED IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY! One class offers you basic skills in three important subject areas: *First Aid *CPR (infant, child, and adult) *AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Class is great for child care providers as well as any member of the general public who wants to "be prepared." A certified American Red Cross instructor will guide you in skills practice. Come dressed in comfortable clothing. We will be kneeling on the floor to do skills practice with mannequins. Please bring a pen/pencil and notebook to take notes. You will receive a certification card after completing the class. *Certification class: For first-time students or for those whose certification course was more than 2 years ago. *Recertification class: For students who have been previously certified with the past 2 years.
  • Mother's Day Sugar Cookie Decorating: Ages 6-Adult

    In partnership with Sticky Fingers Sweets Bakery, come decorate cookies with us! During this Mother's Day class, we'll teach some common techniques used to decorate sugar cookies. At the end of class, you will have 6 beautiful cookies to take home! All materials needed will be provided. This is a fun way to celebrate moms and a fun mother/child activity, no matter the age. Participants age 9 and under will need to be accompanied by an adult.
  • Beginner Gardener's Workshop: Adult

    Gardening is one of those hobbies that can be so fulfilling. Eating food that you've grown is incredibly rewarding! Have you always wanted to experience that but don’t know where to start? We believe that a “green thumb” is a learned skill. Come, learn, and plan along other beginner gardeners in a low-stress, friendly, and confidence-inspiring setting! We will cover foundational information including seeds vs. seedlings, soil composition, weeds, and watering schedules. Includes: Workshop Session & Materials, Planning Notebook, Starter Collection of Seeds, Personal Follow-Up
  • Online: A Parent's Guide to TikTok: Adult

    Have you heard about the latest new app called TikTok? Learn how it's used and how parents can also help their kids stay safe while on it. You'll leave the class with helpful action items with your family to help gain a better understanding on what to do/what not to do within the app. The class will help set up a healthy foundation for technology habits your family members can use for the rest of their life whether in school or in their professional careers. Please note that each class is taught live online. If a student is unable to attend the live online training time, they can still register and watch the recording of the training at their convenience. Follow-up support is also included from the instructor and students are encouraged to reach out with questions at any time before or after the class has concluded.
  • Online: Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People: Ages 13-Adult

    In just a few hours, you can learn enough secrets of the trade to give you years of musical enjoyment. Learn to play piano the way professionals do- using chords. Since this class is held online with ZOOM, you will be able to sit at your piano or keyboard at home and take this course with no pressure at all. And since this course includes an online book and online follow up video lessons, you will be able to continue your practice and study on your own. An optional periodic online question and answer session is also included. A recording of the class is included as well. The course is partly lecture/demonstration and partly hands-on instruction. Topics include: How chords work in a song How to get more out of sheet music by reading less of it How to form the three main types of chords How to handle different keys and time signatures How to avoid “counting” How to simplify over 12,000 complex chords

    Does your child dream of having their own YouTube channel? Eliminate the worry with this helpful class as we walk you through the steps on how to set up a YouTube channel, safety settings, and consideration for kids having their own channel. Parents will learn the basic guidelines of being able to help manage and monitor their activity, all while incorporating practical business skills when it comes to managing your own channel. You’ll learn how this hobby can become a practical career, safety practices, and even create fun videos! Parents will leave the class with helpful guidelines to get their kid’s channel started safely and a solid foundation for their child’s new creative outlet in 2023. Please note, children must be age 13 and have parental permission to start a YouTube channel. Students will gain clarity on what is involved for creating a YouTube channel for their child (and be able to see if it's the correct decision for their family). The students will also leave with an easy-to-follow game plan for the correct steps to set up and manage their channel effectively and keep up safety standards as well as business practices.

    Have you ever wanted to learn the guitar but simply find it difficult to find the time? In just a few hours you can learn enough about playing the guitar to give you years of musical enjoyment, and you won’t have to take private lessons to do it. This crash course will teach you some basic chords and get you playing along with your favorite songs right away. Since this class is being held online with ZOOM, you will be able to sit at home with your guitar and take this class without any pressure at all.   • Camp Confidence: Adults with Disabilities: Ages 18+

    For adults with special needs/disabilities (ages 18+) June 18, 19, and 20th (Wed-Fri) Come and enjoy two nights and three days of camping at Confidence Learning Center on Lake Sylvan in the Brainerd Area. Lodging is in beautiful modern cabins. Activities will include fishing, hiking, paddle boats, swimming, water skiing, tubing, boat rides, campfires, outdoor cooking, tree climbing/repelling down, and hay ride. Bring a sleeping bag, pillow, bug spray, flashlight, towels and personal toiletries, swimming suit, and proper clothing for camping and activities - all labeled. Any adults that plan to attend will need to register and pay. Meet at Princeton High School parking lot at 10:30 AM on first day (Wednesday, June 18), the bus will be leaving by 11:00 AM. We will return there by 2:00 PM on last day (Friday, June 20).

    Organic Sourdough Class: Ages 16+

    Have you ever wanted to try your hand at making homemade sourdough but been too afraid? Fear no more! In this class, Sara will show you how to: score and bake a fresh loaf, how to measure and mix your own loaf, and how to care for a sourdough starter. You will take home a loaf of fresh baked organic sourdough, a loaf for you to finish fermenting and then bake at home, and your very own organic sourdough starter. Class is located at The 100 Acre Homestead, 6360 60th Ave, Princeton, MN 55371 Please bring a mixing bowl to class; all other supplies is provided.
