  • American Red Cross: First Aid, CPR & AED Certification/Re-Certification

    BE PREPARED IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY! One class offers you basic skills in three important subject areas: *First Aid *CPR (infant, child, and adult) *AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Class is great for child care providers as well as any member of the general public who wants to "be prepared." A certified American Red Cross instructor will guide you in skills practice. Come dressed in comfortable clothing. We will be kneeling on the floor to do skills practice with mannequins. Please bring a pen/pencil and notebook to take notes. You will receive a certification card after completing the class. *Certification class: For first-time students or for those whose certification course was more than 2 years ago. *Recertification class: For students who have been previously certified with the past 2 years.
  • BMX Bike Racing: Pre-K to Adult

    Learn the sport of BMX Bike Racing! Rum River BMX is the #1 indoor facility in the country. Unlike traditional sports, in BMX, no one sits on the bench! BMX riding is a great way for kids and adults to stay active, build confidence, develop important life skills, connect with others, and have fun. This session will cover BMX fundamentals including “What is BMX racing?” racing bike types, BMX terminology, and BMX safety. Also, the most important lesson, how to RIDE LIKE THE WIND! Students will receive hands-on riding instructions and will practice their new skills on the BMX track. This course is designed for new riders (novice) who are interested in the sport. If you can pedal your bike without training wheels, you can take part in this class. No special bikes are required, if it has wheels, a few adjustments and we will make it work for this class (your bike will need to have the reflectors, kickstand, chain guard, and pegs removed). If you do not have a bike, we have a fleet of HARO race bikes available at the track for use on a first come, first served basis. A full-face helmet is recommended, as helmets are required. You must wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt and close-toed shoes. Check in is from 5:30 to 6:00pm and class is from 6:00 to 7:45pm.

    This class is for boys ages 5+. We will focus on body coordination, flexibility, strength, and basic gymnastics skills. Please note that Princeton Gymnastics does not have equipment for boys gymnastics so all skills will be modified. Fitted clothing is required with no socks. Gymnasts should bring a water bottle to all practices. Long hair should be secured out of the face. All hair accessories should be soft. Male gymnasts should wear tight fitting shirts/shorts.   • Boys Strength and Speed: Gr. 6-8

    This program will help you build muscular strength, explosive speed and agility, and lasting muscular and aerobic endurance. All fitness levels are welcome and will benefit! This is a boys section. A girls section will be available in our winter/spring catalog.

  • Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS): Ages 11+

    The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute provides everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. At the end of class, the students will receive their certification card along with instructions to access a digital copy of the Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Student book. From getting started with your business to collaborating with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete achievement of the core learning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen.

    Join us for some fun and facts about children and eating! Did you know eating is a developing “skill”!? Let’s learn how to teach children (and ourselves) what a healthy relationship with food looks like. Each class will include some kid-friendly food prep and take-home information regarding how to make healthy eating interesting and age-appropriate!

    DASH Sports Floor Hockey Camp provides players a well-rounded hockey experience covering a broad range of skills training and skill-based games.     DASH Sports Floor Hockey Tykes camps provide little athletes an introductory hockey experience covering a broad range of skills training and skill-based games. Players will be taught how to properly stickhandle, pass, and shoot in a fun and positive environment. Athletes should bring a water bottle and wear athletic clothing and shoes. Sticks and pucks are provided. Parent participation is required for the 2-3yr old age group and recommended when needed for the 4+ year old age group.

    DASH Sports Volleyball Tykes camps provide players with an introductory experience in a fun environment. Key volleyball skills such as passing, serving, and hitting will be introduced and practiced throughout the week. Fun, volleyball skill specific games are also incorporated. This camp is a great opportunity for an introductory experience in volleyball. Athletes should bring a water bottle and snack (knee pads optional). Balls are provided. 6' volleyball net height for this camp.

  • Driver's Education: Classroom Instruction & Behind-the-Wheel: Ages 14.5-18

    The $440 fee gets you 30 hours of in class training and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training. Class is held in person Monday-Friday for the 2 weeks. The first part of our Driver's Education process is a 30-hour class. We will focus on road rage, cell phone laws, road signs, impaired driving with drunk goggles, and antilock braking systems just to name a few. You have to be at least 14.5 years old to take the classroom portion and 15 years old to take the permit test. Make up lessons can be completed in any Princeton Community Education class or online class. Please bring a highlighter, notebook, and writing utensil to class. After passing the permit test, students will need to start the behind-the-wheel phase. Students are required to complete six hours of behind-the-wheel. The lesson is provided in three two-hour sessions with a licensed instructor from the Department of Public Safety. The student will be picked up and dropped off at Princeton High School. Detailed information about behind-the-wheel will be provided at class. Classes and training are provided by Right Away Driving School.   • Early Childhood Screening while your child is AT Preschool

    Does your child attend Hand in Hand Preschool? We have screening staff available on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons to screen your child while they are at preschool. Please sign up for this spot if you would like your child screening during the school-day. Are you still interested but your child attends in the morning or a different time other the ones listed above? There still might be an opportunity for your child to be screened at school if that works better in your family schedule. Sign up for this course and someone from the office will contact you. The office will contact you with some paperwork that we just need you to complete before we screen them during the school day. We will follow up with you after we screen your child with the results. The early childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid learning and growth. Early Childhood Screening is a quick and simple check of how your child is growing and developing. Between the ages of 3 and 4, screening can detect possible health or learning concerns, so that children can get help before they start kindergarten. Screening is required before kindergarten and recommended at 3.5 years old. Does my child need an Early Childhood Screening? YES - In order for your child to start kindergarten in any Minnesota public school, you will need to provide your child's Early Childhood Screening Summary Form and Immunization record. Is there a charge? No, Early Childhood Screening is FREE What will happen at the screening? At your child's screening, a trained professional will check the following: Vision Hearing Height/Weight Immunization status Thinking, language and communication skills, large and small motor skills Social & emotional development Plan on arriving 5 - 10 minutes before you screening appointment.     Come have lots of fun with your toddler in this ECFE class for one and two year olds! We will provide lots of movement activities to keep your active toddler busy! Families will stay together for the entire period; playing and exploring together for the first half of class, then while the children continue to socialize with their new friends, the parents/ caregivers will have an engaging parent discussion time for the second half of class with their teacher. Sibling care is available with a charge.
